Clutch in...have to be hercules to put in gear!

Hi all,

On friday it took me a long long time to get home from work. I had literally just picked this car up... There was a bad accident on the m4 which caused bumper to bumper traffic that I got caught in.

Edging forward cm's every couple of minutes it got to the point where I just couldn't engage a gear! (this is with my foot down to the floor on the clutch)

Before this there was no clutch slipping, no funny smells either and now I've had to leave it parked up because I didn't want to try and change gears using the engine revs for fear of knackering the gearbox.

Does anybody know what this could be? Or could anyone advise me as to how to go about getting this fixed?

er possibly loosing pressure throught the master or slave cylinder

what's that like on one of these? my first vectra c....

back in the day I had a vectra b 1.7 di and that was good as gold!
