    Default auto gearbox

    Hi Guy's

My car is a 2002 2.2 ls but the box is coming from a 2.2 sri both have the af23 box so will it fit, will i need the gearbox ecu from the other car aswell, sorry about the q's & the long post it's just i wont to get this right. Please let me know what you guy's think thank's again. Paddy

You will need to drop the subframe and drive shafts off out of the way, this will include undoing the pinch bolt for the steering column, and just a case of working around the gearbox/engine bay and undoing any plugs and removing the bell housing bolts basically.
If the ecu bolted to the gearbox has the same numbers on it,i don't see why it wouldn't work,or just swap your ecu over to the new box.

I don't think it's special tool's you need,a good varied set of torx sockets would be good though,it takes a few hours on the ramp,so if you are doing it on the floor,i'd allow a day to get the box out.
