Default Just bought some ultimate compound..........

After everyone jumping up and down about this, i have decided to buy some to give it a go with a DA, been over car with swirlx and blackhole and it has improved alot, but still quite a few swirls/scratches left so i am going to give the car one good going over with this and then give up!

plus got my hybrid wax sample to put on afterwards, so according to the packet i shouldnt have to wax for 6 months ha

just hope it doesnt end up like this

DEFINATLY doing a small test patch first lol

Well I have just read some of that, I am not sure what he has done, maybe he left it to dry in the sun.

I used by hand the other day and it was awesome, it looks like that guy applied with a brillo pad.

Make sure you work small sections, such as half a bonnet, then wipe off with a microfibre. It goes a long way, just apply a cross on the pad of your DA, works it very quick to cover the whole area you are doing, then turn the speed up and work the product in a sweeping motion across the panel. Then after a couple of passes, wipe off. If you still have swirls, scratches, then redo the area again.

Was there an outcome from that link? Did meguiars say what he had done wrong?

I'd want to set fire to it, if after I'd finished it looked like his.

Just Finished mine! Paul dont put too much on! I did! Went over it with the buffing pad (Only a cheap DA i got from B&Q @ xmas) and had to go over it again to finish off with a microfibre. Got rid of a load of bad scratches and swirl marks tho! Think if i had a proper DA i could of got rid of a whole lot more!
2moz i'm putting on Poorboys BH and then either P'boys Natty's paste wax or Megs gold class carnuba plus?
Btw it recommends sparaying the pad first with a detailing spray before using the UC.
Let us know how you get on with it m8

what i was thinking, i am sure i might be corrected...........

use an applicator sponge to work it on to the paintwork, then soak the DA head and also mist some water over the pannel that has the UC on, then work with the DA, then remove with microfibre, would that be any good?
