    Default Smoking and smelly (AC/Heating)

    Hey peeps,

First of the AC smells and its not going cold (re-gas and clean needed I think)
The other problem is all is fine when speed setting is on 1,2 and 3 but put it on nu 4 and the cabin fills with smoke and a burning smell, thats with AC on and off.

    Any ideas peeps

    BUMP

Need to get this sorted as I am keeping the car till september and need my air con working.
So what happens is AC smells and not cold, with AC off on speed 1,2 you can here a clicking noise from behind glove box, speed 4 I get a burning smell, with AC on speed 3 and 4 the cabin fills with smoke from vents.

I think I have a large bill ahead lol I think I may need new blower motor and AC condenser. Anyone got any ideas.

    Cheers peeps

Have you looked at the pollen filter?
The usual first signs it has clogged are the rear windows remaining slightly misted, and then the air con not being as cold as you expect, then finally the honky smell

Its had a new pollen filter in the last 2 months and fully cleaned scuttle tray etc. I have noticed behind the pollen filter where the blower motor is, when AC or circ is put on a plastic thing comes down or up to stop outside air, but this looks like its been broken and has a hole in it about size of a golf ball in one corner.

Do you think if I book into kwick fit (taking life into own hands lol) and take them up on there recharge or no charge offer, if there is a leak I will know. How do I check if its the clutch, condensor or just needs a clean and recharge.

Could ac gas being so low cause the smoke?

Sounds very much like your fan motor is dying... Would explain the ticking noise. Wouldn't be surprised, especially as it sounds like there has been physical damage to that area.

Motor isn't too big or expensive a job as far as I remember.
