Default Looking for a TV, help please.

    Folks,

Im looking for a TV, been advised to go for LCD.
I want preferably a 37" but if the price is right I would go to 42", im not brand fussy, so anything goes really as long as its good and looks nice.

I need a minimum of 2 Scart ports, not fussed about HDMI as im not looking ot invest in HDMI kit just yet, just want to utilise what I already got.

I am on a budget, realistically I dont want to spend more than £300 on a 37", will spend a bit more for up to 42".

I have checked the usual online places, supermarkets, richer sounds, but am struggling to find something that fits the bill.

    Any recommendations?

Again im not fussy with brand at all.

    Thanks.

Richer Sounds tend to be one of the cheapest around, although £300 for a 37 inch is a tall order, have a look here http://www.richersounds.com/products...-plasma/lcd-tv

I know £300 is a big ask, would go a little higher I guess.

I missed a treat at xmas, but didnt have the money, Argos had a 42" Bush TV for £299. We bought one at work and its great, I should have bought it an put it on my CC.

Tesco's were doing a 42" LCD for just over 300 a few weeks ago. We bought 2 for work and they're pretty good and have built in HD freeview too.

Not sure if the deal is still on, but worth a look

    I've got Panasonic and LG

The LG isnt quite as good quality as the Panasonic but only if you compare them side to side.

The LG is a 47" LCD and perfectly good

So I would recommend LG brand as I've had no problems with it

We've just bought this TV although we paid £20 less

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/.../sams-le40c650.

If you can stretch to a HD Freeview TV it's well worth the upgrade. The picture is stunning and leaves our old 37" Samsung for dead even though that one is connected to a HD box through the satellite dish.

F1 HD coverage starts this weekend but I'm not sure if all areas of the country are covered for Freeview HD yet.
