    Default CID

Does anyone know if the colour screen from the NCDC 2013/5 work with a cdr2005? Actually i have a pioneer headunit fitted and really just want to swap the standard screen for the colour one but would have re connected the standard unit to pair with the screen then removed again.

    Any ideas?

Ah bummer. Cheers guys. I was hoping that i'd still be able to control the trop comuter/ time etc through the stalk as i do at the moment as the nav doesnt bother me too much. Well not enough to pay £3-400 on a pair lol

    Thanks again

Slightly old thread of mine but just wondered a couple of points. With my cdr2005 the trip computer works off the stalk and works when the cdr headunit is not in the car. I assume the actual trip computer is therefor either in a control module or part of the screen.

I am assuming as well then that the ncdc units have the trip built into unit and not the screens? A mate of mine and i were debating this and him being an electrician was arguing why i could not run wire the trip from a ncdc either to the stalk (as per the cdr) or make a switch out of one of the blanks and run an after market unit with colour screen.

I might add he is also suggesting i could buy a double din nav unit and he could wire the trip into that (i suggested he sticks to sockets and lightbulbs )

Got me intrugued about where each units trip computer is though being they are both half canbus.

He was also thinking he could wire in telephone buttons into the 3 button steering wheel bit with a start call / answer on left control and end call on the right.

The trip computer is in the screen, but is controlede via the Radio on the NCDC range, and there fore uses the buttons on the steering wheel.

The CID and NCDC are "not" half canbus, they are full can-bus

Where its different on the CDR and GID range..they are half can-bus.

Ah jeez vauxhall hated making anything simple, i didnt realise they were full canfus with the steering wheel controls being buttons instead of scroll. Cheers again for the reply mate. Off to text my pal and tell him yet again he is talking pants.

Actually, need him to fit some new sockets and outdoor lights first so will let him down gently

no body said it was going to be easy.. (and i didnt say it was impossible...) one of the romanian guys have put a CID in with a CDR2005 and can control is but he cheated.. and have hidden the NCDC radio so stil use that as a bridge..

Another note.. as when you have turned of the NCDC radio, you cant access the BC controls.. radio has to be on.. where on the GID with CDR radio, you can control it without the radio being on..

it would show logo, date, time, and ecc information.

You should remember to disable all features inside, like Checkkontrol, ice warning ect.. because those would popup, but you wouldt be able to clear them.

i use a parrot with my NCDC.. you could go that way..
