Exclamation Problem with my Vectra 2.0 DTI

First of all a big hello to everybody,

I own a Opel Vectra C from 2004 (pre-face) with an 2.0 DTI engine. A week ago I had my thermostat change and today in my dash the service key pop up(the picture with the car and the service key) while I was driving. I pull over and open the bonnet to see if there are any major damage.

I start hearing sounds from the place where you add colling liquid. I open it and it start coming a lot of steam vapors from there. I also put my finger inside to see how hot was the colling liquid.
After 2 min I put everything back and I was ready to go. But when I got home the service key appear again.

Can some one give me any advice to try to find out what the problem is. I order from ebay a diagnose cable but it will take 3 weeks to arrive to me. In the mean time I figure out I could try any advice from you.

    Best regards,
    Cornel

How high/ low was the coolant level in the coolant tank.
By your description it sounds like you have air still in the system , this you will have to remove .

It's like 5 cm over the normal level now. What should I do?

Leave the cap off for 10 minutes with the engine running. If there is an airlock this should eliminate it

How much is "a lot of steam vapors" from the header tank? Is the coolant level constant?

the coolant level it's not constant. If I drive the level goes up by 2-4 cm now(before 6-7 cm). After 30 min of driving I get the error on the dash and when I open the cap , vapor came for 7 sec.

"a lot of steam vapors" . Similar like you get when you are heating water at 100 Celsius degree.

When I replace the thermostat I added 2 L of colling liquid and 1 L of "distilled water"

Is the thermostat a genuine part or pattern? If its pattern I would maybe consider it suspect.

I assume that is working. Because If i start the engine there is no colling liquid coming(thermostat in close position). But after 10 min the colling liquid starts to come (thermostat in open position).

Just started the car. The cooling liquid come constant when the engine is started. Is this a good thing?
