Right, I don't want to sound patronising but have you checked nothing is shut in it? I did the same thing last week. Looked and thought how have I bent my boot? It wasn't until a few days later when I opened it and found a glue pen in the channel down the side stopping it closing properly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are stops on both side of the boot lid. You undo the large nut ( i think its 30mm) then move the centre up or down to get it sitting right. Be careful though its a pain to get sitting right with no rattles. They are cheap to replace if they break. Hope this helps.
