I got mine from HIDs4US but apparantely the same product is slightly cheaper from carmodshop.

Anyway, fitted them in Sept 09, not had any bulb warnings - touch wood.

6000k will give you a very slight blue. Any higher than 6000k and you'll get a noticable blue tinge.

    4300k is the OEM rating.

Got exactly the same on my car Graham (6000k)

However with mine I had to put in some cancellors as well to get rid of "Bulb Failure" message on the BC. No hardship though really (only £8) as I had purchaced them at the same time as buying the HID kit just in case.

Here's a like to the cancellors:-

As previously mentioned the 6000k bulb does have a slightly blue tinge, does on mine . Will be getting some 5000k bulbs in a few months to see what difference it makes

    Anyway hope it helps

There are lots and lots of posts on here on this subject and the popular thoughts are either of the companies above get a canbus set with cancellors and they will not pop a warning (or in 99.9% of cases) go for 50W and if you like OEM 4300K colour, or if you want a more aftermarket (japstyle look then go hotter 600K or 8000K)

I went HIDs direct 50W 6000K but have changed bulbs to 4300K and am delighted by the result.

Sorry for leading off topic but where did you get your bulbs Derek, have seen numerous sets on fleabay (being for 55w kits) but was unsure if they will work with the HIDs direct 50W kit

Ebay in a word I approached places selling the bulbs as the clips are universal and bought a set similar to these (these are 35W)

Paulb70,.. I have 35w 6000k fitted and this is how they look, as bigdave said, any higher k rating you will get blue light. I bought mine from Hids-4-Us and they do get theirs supplied form CarModShop so I would go there, very helpful and very fast.

here's what mine look like, last pic
