    Default Brake pad sensor light

Guys i need some help, the brake pad light(circle surrounded by small dashes)has started to come on my dash about every 2 days, once the ignition is turned off it stays off, even when the igntion is turned straight back on again. The thing is,my car is an 02 dti elegance and i dont ever recall my front brake pads having a wear sensor on them..Has anyone any ideas on this?Btw i had the pads replaced before xmas

I had the same thing after changing my discs n pads so I just linked it out with some wire and the dash light went out. I have been meaning to fit a new sensor but have not done so yet. I think they are only 10 quid or so. I'm not that concerned really about a new one as I just keep an eye on my pads.
The sensors can degrade through time and give intermitant readings.

Thats all the sensor is.... a wire through a block that gets ground down by the break disc. When the wire is ground through the dash light comes on...
