The standard 'Non Sport suspension' on the Vectra is pretty firm....eg our 55 reg Facelift Club spec car....eg It's difficult to 'bounce' the car to test the shock absorbers as a method referred to in for example the Haynes manual...

A SRI with 'sportier' suspension set - up would be even firmer I imagine.....

I have also heard that shock absorbers can become stiff.....suggested by a mechanic mate of mine who fitted me replacement KYB standard shock absorbers a couple of years ago or so...when the originals started to leak after 27K miles..
An odd wear pattern on one of the rear tyres was also present...flats on the inner 35mm of the shoulder around the circumference of the tyre...which was causing droning like a worn wheel bearing....It wasn't necessarily wheel imbalance that could cause it ( Which it wasn't)...but stiff shock absorbers preventing the wheel from riding up & over bumps & the like properly...

    Cheers

Any tutorial for changing the front/rear shock absorbers? I've just bought all 4 of them and before putting them on, I'd like to know if there are other parts I need - e.g. I know there is a rubber bellow seal.

    Many thanks.
