Oil Level Indicator (Dip Stick)

Has anybody had their Dip Stick Changed ?

Field Remedy 1804 indicates that Dip Stick Part No: 55188282 should be changed with Part number 55200224 because of an issue.

Does anyone know what the issue is and whether it is worth changing the dip stick?

Mine still has original 55188282 Dip Stick

Yes, Paul (Leeds Vectra) had his changed I'm sure although his was a 2.2 petrol (not direct iirc).

I'll dig out that FR for you...

Here's a PDF that relates to a dipstick issue. It is for the 2.2 (non-direct). I can't find any FR numbered 1804.

Can't see any other dipstick issues.

And thinking about it, it wasn't Paul that had a new dipstick, he just had a Vx dipstick overfill his engine!!

But there definitely was someone who had this issue and had it changed. Can't remember who - have a feeling it was on another forum.

Subject: Engine Z19DT/Z19DTH - Oil level indicator comes up too early
Models: Engines: Option:
Signum 2004...2005,Vectra-C 2004...2005,Astra-H 2005 Z19DT| Z19DTH,Z19DT| Z19DTH,Z19DT| Z19DTH
Complaint: Oil level indicator comes up too early although measurement with oil dipstick is OK.
Cause: Mismatch between oil level indicator and oil dipstick due to insufficient oil dipstick design.
Production: Introduction of new oil dipstick in production as of the following VIN's: Rüsselsheim: W0L0ZCF6851009215 (20.09.2004), Antwerp: W0L0AHL3555031383 (24.09.2004), Bochum: W0L0AHL3552031550 (29.09.2004), Ellesmereport: W0L0AHL4858019063 (29.09.2004).

Remedy:
In case of customer complaint replace oil dipstick against a modified one.
New partnumber / catalognumber as follows: 55200224 / 06 58 101.
FunctionalGroup: J - Engine
Complaint Group: 23 - Wrong Indication
Trouble Code: None

Looks like you answered your own question with your Field Remedy post Denzo.

You probably want to get a new dipstick, may as well as it will be free, otherwise your dipstick will show that you have enough oil, when in fact you haven't.
