    Default Panel filter question.

Sorry for such a repetitive thread, but here we go.

Tempted to pop a k&n panel filter in and remove the pipe in the air box, has anyone come across any eml lights because of this?

    Any overfueling?

Also is there a resinator box connected to the underside of the airbox, as with other vauxhalls - or not?

Are all the airboxs in the vectras the same? - Can i get a panel filter advertised for a 1.8 or the likes and pop it in the z20net airbox?

    Cheers, Ben.

Vehicle : Vectra and a Signum

Trim : top of the line in both

    Engine : Z18XE,Z19DTH,Z20NET

    Year : 2006

I have tried various panel filters, done the airbox mod, drilled extra holes in the bottom section, tried a couple of enclosed induction kits and a BSR optiflow system. In all that time I have never had an EML come on, I started doing these when the engine was standard and now it is remapped I will continue with trying various induction methods and have no concerns at all..

As for the different sizes of airbox I am unsure, somebody maybe able to help you with that one, or a trip to a scrapyard may show you.. I would not recommend modding the top half of your airbox though, this trumpet section is there for a good reason, to sort out and direct the airflow correctly over the MAF sensor.

Remove the lower trumpet in the air box, not the upper. I believe all the filters are the same except the vxr and very early 1.8's (2002 models, and not all of those!)
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

The MAF sensor has straighteners in the pipe aswell though, I didn't remove mine but did modify it, the reason being that it was clear from the paper filter that one end was being used alot more than the other and that doesn't make for best air flow. Can't tell you how, I would have to kill you all...
