    Default Spraying Question

I should be getting my VXR rear defuser in the next couple of days.

It will be going on my Silver Sri. I think i am going to go with black as a colour.

Considering its low on the car and not readily visible, i am tempted to spray it myself with rattle cans. Planning on doing it in Satin Black... so its not too dull and not too bright.

Advisable or not? The way i understand it is:

    1. Clean the defuser to get rid of any contamination.
    2. Give cans a good shake (ok boys... calm down)
    3. With smooth flowing movements spray all over
    4. Reapet with a couple more coats.
    5. Do it in mild weather!

I know lots is down to technique... But using the above reckon its worth ago?

    Cheers
    Aidi

you need to key it for paint, wet sand it with 1000-1500 grit wet and dry paper, dry off/clean, then do about 3-4 light coats of paint leaving around 15 mins between coats and do it on a mild/warm day

If the item is not new you will have to sand it first. If it is already primered you won't!

I did mine satin black, I just sprayed it as it came. It's hard to go wrong with satin black, I did several light coats and quite a heavy one to finish. It soon builds to a satin finish. The insert isn't that visible really so you'll be fine, as I say it's quite easy to spray with satin black.
