Default South East Meet @ Brooklands....

Just got back from Brooklands where a bunch of us met up to have a look around the aircraft museum and also travel at mach 2 on a concorde!!

had a wonder around some very nice aircrafts indeed including a plane which used to be owned by a sultan! have you ever seen a bidday (spelling?) on an aeroplane??!!! he had one, with a lovely golden suede cover aswell!!!

pleasure to see all the familiar faces and to meet Wayne (FlyingKiwi), it really was a great location for a meet, and the weather was just superb!!

Cheers to Mark and Cara, Dean, Duncan, Andrew, Wayne and the other Mark for making the journey....much appreciated!

alot of pictures taken on the day, i'll give you some that i thought others might not have caught.

Firstly lets start with how DIRTY a particular members car was, no names, but i'm sure you can figure it out, and be sure to give him some grief when you do!!!

Vectra pics: Cara turned up in her new car, a signum with plenty of toys!!! very nice car Cara, and the colour is very rare.

Brooklands is holding an Aston Martin day tomorrow so a few eager owners turned up early with this one guy with his black DB9 cleaning it in direct sunlight on a hot day....muppet!! LOVELY car though!!

A few Lotus' turned up aswell...filthy as anything but i think its great to see that they get driven hard!!! they looked like they'd never seen a wash mitt before!!!

Me and Dean actually walked up this hill. It used to be used to test cars as the gradient for the last 20m or so is 1:4!! If i recall correctly back in the 20's the fastest car did the hill in around 25 seconds, can't recall exactly. The view was great from the top though.

These pictures were taken at the top of the long curve which used to be part of the actual Brooklands race track...again, it got really steep towards the top!!

    Hi,

As Harry has already said, had a great day looking around Brooklands today. Finally putting some faces to names. I can only agree with what a lot of people have said on these forums already...Vectra C/Signum owners club is a good forum made up of a good bunch of friendly people...

Due to my other commitments I don't get to make too many Vectra meets, but some mention was made of possible visits to Duxford or Bealieu in the future. If such events do take place, then definitely count me in.

    Thanks Harry for organising this!

Here are just a few of my pics from the day....

    Cara's new toy...

    Anybody recognise this person??

My Siggies definitely got more leg room than this!

Just to say thanks Harry for organising the day out. Nice to meet up and nice to finally meet flyingkiwi.

Concorde was a good experince, as close as your getting to ever get to the real thing.

Love Cara's new car got all the toys on it and its gonna be keeping Mr Gsi busy for weeks with the mods to be done on it.

And the look on Duncans face in the pic above. classic! Top meet Harry with top guys.

FPMSL!!! What a look on my face!! I have absolutley no idea what I was looking at. You'd think I'd turned round to give some kid behind me who was kicking my seat back a good telling off!! - expect nobody was sat behind me!!

Good to meet a few regular faces again and a couple of new ones - Wayne (Flyingkiwi) and Andrew (AndrewSRi) - good day out!!

Good day out. Thanks to everyone.

Quote from the day, a toss up between, " Go on, crash into the wall" - Cara, commenting on a reversing Aston, within earshot of the owners partner, or " I'M GOING TO END UP ON MY FU****G AR$E IN A MINUTE" broadcast to the whole of Surrey from the top of Brooklands Bank by Mr. GSi. as he tried to descend the slope in a dignified manner!
