Just got back from Brooklands where a bunch of us met up to have a look around the aircraft museum and also travel at mach 2 on a concorde!!
had a wonder around some very nice aircrafts indeed including a plane which used to be owned by a sultan! have you ever seen a bidday (spelling?) on an aeroplane??!!! he had one, with a lovely golden suede cover aswell!!!
pleasure to see all the familiar faces and to meet Wayne (FlyingKiwi), it really was a great location for a meet, and the weather was just superb!!
Cheers to Mark and Cara, Dean, Duncan, Andrew, Wayne and the other Mark for making the journey....much appreciated!
alot of pictures taken on the day, i'll give you some that i thought others might not have caught.
Firstly lets start with how DIRTY a particular members car was, no names, but i'm sure you can figure it out, and be sure to give him some grief when you do!!!
Vectra pics: Cara turned up in her new car, a signum with plenty of toys!!! very nice car Cara, and the colour is very rare.
Brooklands is holding an Aston Martin day tomorrow so a few eager owners turned up early with this one guy with his black DB9 cleaning it in direct sunlight on a hot day....muppet!! LOVELY car though!!
A few Lotus' turned up aswell...filthy as anything but i think its great to see that they get driven hard!!! they looked like they'd never seen a wash mitt before!!!
Me and Dean actually walked up this hill. It used to be used to test cars as the gradient for the last 20m or so is 1:4!! If i recall correctly back in the 20's the fastest car did the hill in around 25 seconds, can't recall exactly. The view was great from the top though.
These pictures were taken at the top of the long curve which used to be part of the actual Brooklands race track...again, it got really steep towards the top!!
