New mod (still undecided !)

Due to stone chips on the leading edges of my side skirts and because the VX mud guards don't fit the XP sideskirts, i decided to make my own "flaps".
I don't really like the big rubber aftermarket flaps so decided (after a conversation with Spoons a while back) to make my own but with a slight difference.
So, i bought a rigid sheet of real carbon fibre (not sticky back vinyl).

I've made a template and cut out the fronts with a dremmel on full speed.
Flap held on with masking tape for the pictures.
Here are the results.
Tell me if they are ok or not as i can't decide !!!

Won't rip out, no.
BUT when i've done the rears, any left over carbon sheet is going to be a target for my air gun. That'll give me an idea of how strong it is and how badly it shatters.

Well thats just it... I dont know?

I like the carbon weave, that looks cool.

I think they look a bit long (ie too near the road)... and even though its high quality carbon fibre it looks a bit cheap and unfinished.

But I dont know how to fix that, so cant be very constructive with my thoughts really...
