    Default is this my imagination

OK a 38K mile 2007 1.9CDTi car has been fully serviced and had a new DMF clutch and slave at 36,500 miles.

I had a 600 mile day yesterday and noticed in certain cicumstances a juddering under acceleration.

sitting on the motorway at around 60mph, 6th gear 1500rpm I then (after say an obstruction) feel a juddering like an uneven road surface juddering on acceleration,NOT foot to the floor but reasonable say 1" of travel on the pedal acceleration.

Not always there but a repeatable situation on around 6 or so occasion during the trip.

Otherwise the car was flawless and cross some of the country section a bit of a weapon and made a huge grim appear on my face.

My thoughts are surrounding th DMF itself but as this was new only 3,000 miles ago seems highly unlikely, other thoughts are the beginnings of the EGR????

Welcome any suggestions but let me say the EGR is probably going to go for a bath this weekend

It sounds like your EGR valve mate, mine did this on a long trip, it decided to go into limp when setting off on my return trip, i turned the car off and restarted it, it initially cured the problem and got me home.
A couple of weeks later my car lost all power and i couldnt move it! I did manage to limp it home. I removed and cleaned the EGR valve and boost sensor the following day for a clean, problem solved! I also noticed my small boost pipes were split at the elbows so replaced them, it made a huge difference..

Hello Lee ad Derek by the way nice to see you again fellow buddy's
The car has the blue injector wiring so I can slightly exclude the injector I hope, I have tried to think logically about it and out of 10 if I try to replicate it exactly I could only get that same effect say 3 out of 20 and as it only does it 1500rpm in sixth to about 1800rpm never in any other gear it has me a little stumped.

I am going to clean out the EGR remove and scrub the throttle body posibly remove the butterfly,,,,

Mines has a small judder between 2,000-3,000rpm. Imo it's the EGR valve. Well I hope.

The throttle body issue only affects 2004, 2005 and possibly the earlier 2006 CDTI's.

Put the EGR back together using the fiat gaskets. They let less exhaust gas through the system. It made a good difference on mine, runs smoother at lower revs.

Hi Lee got my belt done my local garage only charges 90quid and was done in 3 hours so I took there hand off I supplied all parts includin water pump and coolant total including parts at trade price from Vauxhall and labour
Came to 230 quid not bad I think

Belt is in ok condition for 82000 miles on a 06 plate
    Water pump was like new
    Tensioner was like new

But the idler pulley was quite stiff compared to the new one so def needed changing but inreckon it would
Of easily got to 100000 miles no probs lol
