Default Replacing o/s wing mirror glass

    The mirror fell out today.

All that came out was the actual mirror (ie the glass) leaving a kind of plastic plate that it must have been stuck to.

Is it normal for just the glass to come out or do I also need to replace the backing plate thing as well now?

Any idea how much for one?

Both of mine fell out within 10 mins of each other! Its not uncommon for them to come unstuck mate. Mine did as i was cleaning them and luckily they did not break.

I fixed mine using double sided sticky pads, and they have remained firmly fixed ever since and countless washes etc.

My passenger side one was wobbling this morning so took it off before it fell off borrowed some silicone from the pet section at work (used for bonding fish tanks) and boy is it secure!! also driver side came off the other week! Only used "pathetic" superglue for that one though.

I think the glass is the same, it's the holders that have the heating elements in, somone with more "know how" will know more.

The glass never had any wires on it when mine was wobbling and taken off,i fixed mine back on with evostick compact adhesive, that was the passenger side mirror,my drivers side mirror glass is the tinting one and looks like it is held in the frame, rather than sitting on it.
(So i take it the backing is the heated part btw)
