    Default Vauxhall astra

The girlfriends car got wrote off last week and i found a canny deal on a 08 plate astra 1.4 which still has 15 months warranty. A couple of questions i have and was hoping you guys could help me with?

    1. I had a quick look over the documents and there doesnt seem to be a car pass. I did ask the dealer and he asured me it was there, do the astra need one? cos i dont want to be a year down the line and need it then get charged for a new one.

    2. I had a quicker look around the car and the oil filler cap has like dark mayo on it should i be worryed about this?

    Thanks
    Leon

    1. My astra didnt have a pass
    2. I wouldnt worry bout the Mayo if its under warranty, get it fixed if it is an issue as long as the car warrants such condition otherwise to not worry

My Signum didn't come with a Car Pass, you can get them for around £25. So if you can't find it, get the seller/dealer to replace it.

In the 1.4 i'd not be worried about the Mayo, just check the coolant for oil (to be on the safe side). It'll probably go after a damn good rag about!

Well tuesday night the inspection symbol came on the dash so need that took off as they were ment to have serviced it before we picked it up, then today put £20 worth of fuel in and petrol gauge hasnt moved. So gona give the dealers a ring tommorow see what the say. Anyone any ideas about the fuel gauge? will they fix it under warranty?

most of the services they give a car before you buy it, consists of an oil change and oil filter change, and a valet, not enough to reset the service indicator,

    To reset the service indicator.

Press and hold the accelerator and brake pedal down.
Press and hold the mileage reset button deon.
Turn on the Ignition (do not start the car)

The display should flash ---- and then come back to normal. Job done.

If the above doesn't work, vefore you turn the Ign on, turn the headlights on.

Not sure about the fuel gauge tho.
