Turbo stops working, when ever it likes...? HELP

I’m having a worrying problem with my Vectra c 2.2 DTI......please help.

Problem:
At times the engine management light will show on the dash, and then my turbo cuts and and stops working. Very Sluggish. Then after a few seconds or minuets. The light will go off and the turbo will start working again. There seems to be no pattern to this and reason it will flash on and off. AT ANY TIME????

Fixes I have tried:

I have check and pushed all turbo vacuum pipes firmly in place. No signs of wear or damage. Checked all levels oil, water... Looked for signs of damage in the engine bay. All seems normal and not changed.....


Does anyone have an idea what it could be?

the turbo stops working when the light comes on to protect the engine in case of failure,
i had the same thing with my old dti and it was the vacume pipes, even though i checked them twice upon the third time of checking them one had a tiny hole in it.
have you tried to get the fault codes.
there is a guide to the pedal test in the how to section.
not the best help i know but its a place to start

Get some silicone 2mm pipe off ebay 3 meters should be more than enough. but before that check you dont have any splits in the intercooler pipes as well.

Is it the EML light and the Spanner through car icon on the screen as well?

If its the Vacuum pipes you usually have to switch the engine off and then back on again to clear the spanner icon and for the turbo to start working again.

You really need to get the codes read. Here is the link to the Pedal test:

I haven't tried it on my 2.2dti so don't know if it'll work. If that doesnt work start a thread asking for a member to read the codes in your area. Failing that go to garage and get it read but we dont like to pay for things like that on here especially if a member ins near by and can help.

If could be anything from a split inter cooler hose, MAF sensor, Manifold and Boost sensor coked (and needs cleaning).
