Another busy day today, Steve from CCS bought the interior round to my house today and re-fitted it to the Astra.
So beforehand I gave the car it's first proper clean in six months! Then two coats of Chemical Guys Knight Light Glaze and a coat of Do Do Juice Orange crush, the a final coat using Do Do Juice Supernatural wax.
Then when this was complete, I decided to fit one of the final bits I have to renew.
I ordered from Germany through my local Vauxhall dealer, two new sill kick plates. The original sill plates were badly scratched after 8 years. So I figured, while they are still available, I'll get a new pair.
They are actually listed as RH and LH!
The old ones came off OK, but obviously are not usable again!
Looks much better now the new ones are fitted.
The Steve from CCS appeared and I took a really cheesy photo!
Then in his van was my interior!
So I left him to fit the seats whilst I made a cuppa tea!
What Steve has done is replace the complete drivers side seat outer bolster, inside and out as the original was worn, and then they in effect refurbished the rest of the seats.
They had gone quite shiney on the leather so Steve has restored the original mat finish to the leather. I am over the moon with the end result.
Just got to wait now until the car goes into Car Electronics to get the sub fitted and then, but will have to MOT and Tax it a few days before, so all being well it should be finished and on the road for 1st April.
Finished? I somehow think that will never happen!
