    Thumbs down Dead Battery

I have just come to start the car and its having none of it. Flat as a f..r. Looks like the battery has had it as its fine when running round but leave it a week and its dead and will not turn over. Is there anything I have to watch when changing the battery on my car? i.ethe alarm system or anything else.

If it is as dead as the one in mrs GSi's old car went..then you will have no problem changing it..you will have to re-set the stereo codes and leave it on to reset the clock and date..

all the alarm and remote locking should be un affected..

oh..and get a 60Ah battery.. if it's a calcium one it may be smaller than the old one, but as batterys get better they are getting smaller

Cheers for that.It is deffo dead. Still got a bit of life in it but not even enough to turn the mask front round on the stereo.Just rang my mate at the local car spares and he can get me one for in the morning.I dare not ring the stealers and ask them for a price.

One shot electric windows will need re-setting too.

Press and hold button for a few seconds after the window is down and the same on the way up.

Just don't be tempted to jumpstart it..

We did this to Mrs Gsi's car at the Billing meet..sent it haywire.. took several restarts to get it to settle down..

changed my battery couple of weeks ago, no problem at all. Just make sure you buy the battery and fit it yourself(save a small fortune).

On that note thanks Mark for the enqiuires on my battery (go was the one for me 66amps).

A gen Vx replacement is about £35-45 dep on model, so it's not the end of the world this time Telboy, might get one cheaper if you can quote the trade card.
