    Question Rain & light sensor

I have a 2007 elite which has auto wipers and lights, the lights don't work properly. My question is should the screen have the black squeeze in the middle of the sensor as I saw an astra today that did no have it but had what looked like the exact same sensor. If I was to get rid of the black square will the light start working?
    Thanks in advance

its sure sound like you have fitted the wrong windscreen, but yes.. the middel of the sensor is the lightsensor..

    or is it a retrofit?

I though it had had a new screen as it is a top spec elite, not retrofit, and it is no even. 'heat shield' screen or what ever their called. I am going to sand off the middle square later, it will look like a dogs dinner but I never look from the outside anyway. Either that or go at it with a sledge hammer and £75 excess on the insurance.

    ***** Update *****
Well, I hav removed the black square, tried man y things but had to resort to sandpaper. Finished it off with 2000 grit wet and dry and is not too bad. I will get a glass tool to polish it I I get round to it. Anyway the lights work a treat now. They did not go on stall yesterday till the evening when the light started going down.
