    Default MOT today....

    and it PASSED.

Well it actually failed because of a totally knacked handbrake cable and sticking caliper but my bro in law got a new caliper, cable and set of rear pads fitted for me under warranty so it passed in the end with a few advisories.

    - front to back and both front brake cables were slightly coroded
    - wee bit of play in one of the front tie rods or track rod ends
    - problem with one of my droplinks but have the new uprated saab ones to get fitted
    - oil below level

Overall very very chuffed. Not kidding myself on i need to get bushes and some suspension bits (fitting party sometime maybe) and want to get the timing chain done soon but at least i can do it gradually over next few months.

I have been looking at various replacements for the car but to be honest i cant see anything i really want at a price i am willing to pay and if my aim is to save fuel / cash then theres no point in paying a finance payment.

Sad as it sounds i've had the car just over 6 years now and a wee part of me is a bit sentimental when i think about getting rid, so another reprieve and time to start doing some wee bits i'd put off.

Cheers guys. Like i said i was dreading it as the car feels like theres a lot of issues but all stuff i can do in stages.

Already got my droplinks and will order other suspension stuff next week then just have to wait on my bro in law having the time to fit for me once his house moves done mid april. Or i may attempt to follow some how to's

Also pm'd Benny on z22se forum about me heading down to get the timing chain done as its due in 3000 miles. After that i'm just going to keep putting so much aside each month to doing bits and bobs like getting some leather seats etc.

Just have to avoid getting depressed everytime i fill up at the pumps and wishing i had an economical car lol

It is Ed still going to cost me a bit but not a huge bill right away which is good as i'm off to stockholm in 3 weeks for a long weekend which wont be cheap lol Very grateful that the bits that did fail got put through on warranty although technically 2 years too late for all that lol
