    Default Ecu scanner

I'm running an ECU scanner via laptop and OBD11 .....my current software will only read rpm engine temp etc..... the software will not read diagnostic fault codes only on pre 2004 models. Anyone know where I can get software for 2006 new shape Vectra also compatable with vista?

    This depends upon your scanner...
There should be updates available from the scanner manufacturer.

There are many standalone programs for generic OBD2 scanners (especially home made units) on sites like digital kaos...
Have a look on there and post up a similar query

The moderators may pick-up on thi subject as theu have in the past, & comment about non authentic or pirated copies available on the likes of ebay for use on laptops etc......advising that the OEM of the software be approached for updates etc....

    Hope this helps

    Cheers

Like I said, there are many circuit board diagrams for "build your own" devices. These diagrams and the software to run them are not subject to copyright.

These are freely and legally available on many sites, but as detailed above, digital kaos is a particularly good for them.

And to reiterate ... oem devices will usually get a life-time of free program updates and customer assistance.

Thanks robsey I will take your advice.... I believe if you build your own device or create your own software and dont sell or distribute use for comercial practices then there is no breach of copyrights...
