    Thumbs up Alright

Looks like I'm the new boy, have been the proud owner of a 52 plate 3.2 GSi (nicknamed 'Rory' by my little boy) since November.

Thinking of getting started with some lightweight modding:
    1. Richbrook doorpins (can't decide between black to match the interior or silver to match the trim/wheels), is there a How2 for this mod I haven't specifically looked...

    2. K&N panel filter - what's the consensus on the airbox mod: just a noisemaker or a tangible benefit?

    3. Debadged 'sports' grill - god I hate that chrome

    4. TC switch - took out the blank yesterday, lo-and-behold I have the blue gubbins in there so hopefully I'll have switchable TC before you can say.....er........"bloomin 'eck the TC's switched off"

I've also been utilising the How2 section:
    1. Checking that I've got the TC switch hardware thingamajig
    2. Tightening my bonnet release cable
    3. Cleaning out my scuttle tray (and in the process realising that I need a new pollen filter)

    Cheers for now
    Rob

    Default Here he is then

We nipped over to Cheddar gorge yesterday (incidentally there was a TVR OA meet taking place there which made for a very noisy/congested Gorge).

Took a couple of pics on my phone when we walked back up to the car - admittedly it's not the best representation of my (dirty) car but you get the idea of who/what Rory is

Hello and welcome. That looks very tidy mate, those flame red vec/sigs look great when given a good detail. "Thinking of getting started with some lightweight modding" might be an understatement now you're on here.

HA! Indeed, it seems like there's a fair bit I could do but it's go to slip under the boss's radar - if she notices I'll have no end of trouble. So my watchword will be subtlety - if I can get away with it and explain it as "it's probably 'cos it's just been serviced" then I'm good to go.

You're right about the detailing. My car had some *very* noticeable fading all over but especially bad on the roof/bonnet. I used some TW colour magic on it and it's come up a treat! Needs another couple of goes to get it looking really nice then I'll put something protective over it - any ideas/suggestions?

Odd that your GSi didn't have a TC switch as most had them from the factory

Also don't worry too much about any mayo under the oil filler cap, its normal and its due to the fact the oil filler neck sits in the cold airflow. The extension neck can be twisted out, binned and the yellow cap put back in its place if it worry's you.
