Default Best Place to advertise a car

Im looking for places to sell my car, I've only part-ex part-ex'd in the last few years so not sure where's the best place to advertise it? Autotrader, Exchange and Mart, ebay or Piston Heads?? And roughly how far off are the likes of Webuyanycar.com, Wewillbuyanycar.com etc from value I could get for the car If I sold it privately or are they pretty spot on? Any advice welcome

webuyanycar from what I've heard offer a very low price and then drop it further during the deal.
Sold my last Alfa on ebay - but I think folk look for a good deal on there. Autotrader gets my vote, it's where I'd look first and how I found the car I have now

Personally I think Autotrader is best place to sell a used car (unless its only worth a few huindred in which case ebay). I have used Piston heads in the past as it was free but not sure now.

The likes of the webuyanycar.com, I have had valuations in the past which are a joke - last week a mate was wanting to sell his BMW 118D M sport, 2008 with 20k, absolutely mint - they offered him £8k - he just sold it on Autotrader for £14,200!!

webuyanycar ...they are having a laff Pete ..they offered me £1500 for mine ..
and you would have to take it to car land Lakeside for the final offer ..
Autotrader possibly the best place............sold my BMW just by having forsale notice on it .but your not on a busy road so might not help Pete...

Ahh, Cheers guys, I'd heard that WBAC were rip-off merchants, just wanted to check, I'll go with Autotrader then

@Ian, Yeah i dont think it would sell down my road Ian, it's a tad on the quiet side as you know I know that WBAC have a place in Chelmsford, It's just off of the Army and Navy roundabout so i've been told.

Right, sorted then, as soon as i get the log book back (taken my Plate off) i'll stick it on ebay..

Just sold my previous car on pistonheads, using the free standard advert, they kept emailing me saying I should upgrade to premium for £15, I held out and got just £100 less than what I was asking. (wanted £6,450, took £6350 was chuffed with that.

Wbac had offered £5,900 for it, took it down there and the guy knocked it down, saying it needed alloys refurbing etc. etc.
Then he said he'd like me to come back so he could go over the whole car with his paint depth gauge and have a garage poke about for faults?
Told him where to shove his offer!

Autotrader - only downside is the cost, iirc my dad paid £35 for 2 weeks on the web and 1 week in the mag, car is immaculate and very competitively priced, not a single phonecall!

Autotrader and pistonheads. Both are great for selling. eBay classifieds will just get you loads of idiots wanting a car for nothing.
