Default Problems after the Y30DT engine switch.

Hi, concerned Opel Signum 3.0 CDTI 2005 and Y30DT engine.

I changed to a new engine and everything should be ok but the engine will not start. Any running problems or start-up problems were not the old engine, before the exchange. (except the BIG bearing faults). Nozzles have been checked and all the fuel connections used new gaskets.

Would it be the fault codes that prevent the engine from starting? Or high-pressure pump??

Does anyone have doubts or experience about this problem?

Did you also swap the ECU? as most parts need coding.. so everything you did take from the donor car.. needs to be coded to yours..

Yes, the ECU was loose in 3 weeks, like almost all the parts. Do you know, can I update the ECU by own fault code reader? (Sorry for the bad English but did you understood what I meant)?

I don't see why it wouldn't start if you're using your old ECU's (there are 2!!!). And yes, I believe you could reset the ECU with a code reader and then reprogram the immobiliser.

LIke I said, my english is bad...

Anyway, all parts are from old engine. But if ecu is out of position many weeks so is it possible that the settings disappear from that box?

    Let's put it this way...
When I used my old phone (dead battery for 1 year) all the names were still in!

Are you getting fuel to the injectors?

Ok. Im not sure is there fuel in injectors?? How can I check it? In this engine injectors are inside the valve cover and on top is a lot of stuff, so the injector, it is difficult get sight.

    I know

Un-tight the pipes that go into the injectors. I think cylinder 6 is the easiest to get to Then ask someone to crank the car while you watch if there is a dribble of diesel coming from there
