    Default help my boot wont open ater removeing chrome strip

    .i removed my chrome rear strip for painting but i closed the boot by mistake and now it wont open .i have tryed the emergency key thing in the boot but no joy i can hear a winging sound but it wont open .cud the lock be out of alignment from removeing the boot strip? it was working fine before i took the chrome stripe off

    is the boot shut properly if not shut it then press the button

    my boot motor is knackered and i have to hold the button in and lift the boot up thand push it down quite firmly till it clicks and unlocks

    if you've removed the chrome strip you'll of had to remove to nuts which hold the lock actuator button to the chrome strip, so you'll be pressing the button but it wont be hitting anything behind it. You will need to remove the boot trim somehow to get to it.

    Thanks mate thats what the problem is. Im lucky because i didnt put the boot trim back on so easy accass i havent put the boot strip on either as its just painted but when i put the stip back on and bolt it back together should the problem be sorted ?
