    Default Powder coating wheels...."some pics"

Just got back from ESP powder coatings in Glasgow yesterday with Gary "black Veccy-B", he was wanting his spare set of wheels refurbed for the winter.
Well the place is a dive but the guys works is second to none, have heard Trevor is meant to be one of the best powder coaters in Scotland. All the bikers use him and ppl who have show cars wanting some special work done seem to end up there to.
He can do just about any finnish or colour you want, and for a wheel to have a full over haul and a basic silver or silver-grey powder coat finnish is......£35.
Ive posted some pics of one of these guys at work and some pics of Garys wheels before and after...sorry about the pics but their from my phone...

    Powder coating happening....

    A sample colour.....silver grey.

    Garys wheel before powder coat...

    And the after pic......

    Centre cap.....

    Another sample colour....

    Nice sets of Vortex R's

    OOOOOH yes.....

I will be going here after the winter to get my wheels done and hopefully some engine parts as well....
When I asked Trevor about what can and cant be done he said that due to the coating olny lasting up 200oC ish, exhausts he will not do and other high temp parts.....
If any one wants this guys address I'll get it off Gary, forgot to ask....

    Davie...

(Thats a new set of wheels for £140 )

It is a great finish powder coating as you can see, and it covers a multitude of sins!! better than painting imho, a lot more durable as it is a hard coating. For north of Scotland lads there is an approved trader who does it, JJ Smart Repair .. (he has some nice Kawasaki Green Powder *lol*)

No probs John, just to add what Tommy said, I did ask Trevor about the finnish being a lot harder and more dureable, he told me he had guys with wheels that had been done 15 years ago and still going strong.....

Its like anything if you take care of them they'll last for years....just dont clean them with oven cleaner..lol

Yes mate, but if you go and get your wheels done at a alloy repair place they'll just mend the damaged area where as you'll get the damaged area sorted plus powder coated aswell...ie a new alloy.

If you look at pic 3, this is Garys wheel just been chemically stipped and shot blasted plus all the marks and damaged areas sorted.

Then pic 4 shows you the finnished wheel.....

Perfect!!!. Thanks for the info Davie.

I'm asking because I'm pre-empting the wife driving and parking my new Veccy at some point when I pick it up on Saturday morning.
