    Default 2.0T loss of power!!!!!

hi hopfully someone will have an idea what happend here, i was driving home from work,i turned on a road which is a pretty steep hill but had it in 4th gear & i wasnt going fast so i dropped it into 2nd as soon as i done this the eml came on & had no power atall! so i stopped when i got to the top, the engine sounded like a diesel so i turned it off then back on again, the light stayed on so i went back to work & got the light turned off, it came up with fault code p0606 ecm/pcm processor, it cleared easy enough & the car was fine again, i just got it remapped 2weeks ago from superchip! because iv had the car linked to a computer do you think iv lost my remap? also im thinking the hill in such a high gear & low speed may have caused the fault? any help would be great, & now iv cleared the fault is there any chance of it coming back?

sounds kinda familiar to fault i had with my octavia vrs. Was on motorway, suddenly had no power from turbo at all and eml flashed a couple of times. Pulled over at a service station, restarted the engine and everything was fine again. This was also after a remap. Called a skoda specialist and he told me that sometimes the turbo will effectively shut down to preserve the engine if the ecu is warning of a potential problem being created. In my case, I was on a 400 mile round trip, in heavy rain with washers on full blast, all lights on and radio on high volume. Im guessing my motor just started to overheat which is why i had the problem. Dunno if this relates to your vec or not?!

I cant find any detailed info for that code, sorry to say but only time will tell if it comes back i suppose. If it does come back I would be on the phone to Superchips, see what they say. If it continues I would be tempted to remove the map (I know it could only be coincidence) & see if it happens on the "stock" map, at least you could rule the map out then ?
or after speaking to Super get VX code-reader ? sorry not much help..hopefully it wont come back

Sounds like some sort of boost issue, maybe a faulty sensor?

had that noise on mine last Thursday, I had just put new Denso plugs in the day before and thought I had not tightened them properly, but had no loss of power.
tightened them when i got home, not done it since even though they were tight.
It ran perfect apart from the diesel knock. scared the s**t out of me though

it could always come back as the route cause will remain... best info i can find is in this link: http://www.obd-codes.com/p0606

it will not have removed you remap when you tested it.. the remap will remain until you remap it again... I am not familiar with the details of the remap but its usually something on the engine packing up under the increased power/boost..

thanks guys, iv just took it for a spin motorway & town drive with a mate whos an audi mech, it feels as though the remap is still in place runs smooth etc almost as if nothing happend! my friend thinks the ecu was conflicting with the remap when i went up the hill, the car wants to cut out but the remap wants to say go go go which confused it & put it into limp mode, im going to phone superchips tomoorow so they know about the problem & if it happens again ill be getting them to sort it, also iv got another mate @ vauxhall to find out what exactly the fault is, but @ this point in time i think the car went through a *****y spell!

ok iv phoned superchips they just passed the buck to falkland performance centre who where very helpfull, they said they have had similer problems in the past where the ecu just throws a fault code up & there is nothing wrong with the car atall, the car is running brilliant now so there saying if it occurs again then they will have the car & make it right, so it was just a glitch & is now sorted!!!! thanks god i really did s**t myself for a minute lol

well sorted as in its not doing it right now.. I would not be happy with it but fingers crossed it was a one off glitch.. At least you have one place saying they will have it back to sort if it happens again.. Its always good to hear the feedback from members about their tuning/remaps etc. What power figures did they say you will get with this?
