Default Your Car buying Knowledge needed please..

Just seen a black facelift 2.2sri going for 10999.
I prefer the pre for looks but this suspension thing is starting to sway me
Thing is i bought my latest 2.2 pre-facelift 05 reg car in April.
I made the initial payment of 379.60 followed by 4 payments to date of 229.60.
The cost of the car with my old astra traded in was 9701.50.
Total amount with interest is 14,408.00
The facelift is in the same garage i've got my pre from.
Is it possible to trade mine in for the new one?
Or is it 2 soon? without reading the small print,(tired eyes) i'm not sure where i stand. For instance will they just draw up a new finance package, covering what i owe minus the interest and give me a new increased amount for the new car?
I don't have a clue and need your help people!!
Look forward to reading what you think...
    Cheers Sparky.

basically you oe too much mate and the garage will add the difference of what you owe onto the price of the new car, or for talking sake if they give you 9000 for the car but you owe 14000 then you have a shortfall of 5000 which could be added to the finance agreement for the new car if this makes sense mate

they should settle the finance outright when they enter the deal as the finance won't be lodged with them, but with a seperate finance house. there may be early settlement charges.

they will then start the finance on a seperate agreement to cover the new car..

that is strong money on the new car BTW.. try and take 500 out of it at least, they'lll make it up in commission on the sale of the finance.

Hi i think it works like this.. they take the value of your car to pay off the finance which will be less than the total amount because you have only hand it what 5 months so you dont pay allthe interest. they then do a new finance package on the new car & if the old car dosnt cover the finance of the old one you will have to pay the differance. you might just be able to get away with not paying out i think 6 or 7 months would be better but the best thing to do is go down and see what they say. Seeing as you bought the original car there they might do a special deal for you hope this wasnt too bad a strain on ya tired eye's m8

    BTW..by the way..

The garage can't alter a finance agreement..they only sell the loan, not finance it..it's an agreement between a loan company and you with the garage acting as an agent

What they should do is settle the existing finance on the car you have at the moment, then start another agreement to cover any costs on the new car.

Nice one peeps! BTW.... By The Way! Mind i should have known that as i have a 12 year old msn regular in this household, who often splats BFFL and BFFE etc across her pencil case!!!!!
    So it looks possible then?
And before interest i should only be a grand and a bit out?
Point taken about the strong money,i'll see what they can do for me when i call them tommorrow.
