    Default Signum for towing??

A mate of mine was considering swapping his jap 4x4 for a 2 ltr Signum, but according to the powers that be (namely the crapavan club) the Signum has 'handling issues'
I just wondered if anyone has attempted to tow a 20 foot caravan, and how was it?

It's actually a very good tow car due to it's short rear overhang. It's better than both the vec hatch and estate for that very reason. What does the club say about them? They all use the same suspension components.

Maverick used to tow a big van with his with no I'll effects what so ever.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

No idea what the club had to say, my mate has a Nissan X-trail and they didn't rate that either! Not into the caravan thing myself..just cars and bikes.

I got a vec hatch and tow a caravan, I don't have any problems, tows like a dream. If its the same running gear I can not see a problem tbh. I don't really bother what the C/Club states, they say mine would struggle with my current van, but I don't not see a problem with it.

FYI my van is 18ft inc "A" frame.

Use my hatchback too for towing 1250kg caravan. Have to slow it down all the time or use cruise.

    Great tower in my opinion.

Mine tows a dream (although it is the 3.0 v6 ). Defo no handling issues.

Just be aware that if he is thinking of getting an automatic it has a max tow weight of 1300kgs, I would guess 20 foot of caravan could weigh more than that.

Of course a Vectra/Signum or any other car wll never tow as well as a decent 4x4, But as said I towed with my old Signum 3.0 CDTi V6 and it was fantastic.

As already mentioned, the short overhang makes it more stable than the Vectra. I personally think the Signum V6 CDTi is one of the best tow cars before moving on to a 4x4.
