    Default All Blued up!

After reading this thread I had to get some of these Philips Bluevision bulbs too. They arrived today so I thought what the heck, I'll see how I get on (was a bit concerned about what I might run into after reading other peoples stories of removing bumpers and headlights etc). Anyway took me about half an hour in all and this is what I did:

    - Removed Washer bottle filler neck (forgot I'd filled yesterday ... oops!)
    - Removed ECU from top of Airbox
    - Unclipped and seperated all wires routed around box
    - Disconnected top and bottom air feed pipes
    - lifted airbox from centre of car slightly towards wing and then manouvered towards centre of car, up and out

After doing this it was a doddle to get to the near side lights and had loads of space to work with. At this point I put on a latex glove to avoid getting finger prints on the bulbs.

The dipped beam H7 bulbs simply pull out (they are sat in sprung clips) then the connector block pulls off the connectors. New one goes in ensuring flat tab is in cut out in reflector and then simply push until it clicks.

The side light bult has two squeezy plastic clips on the body which you must sqeeze while pulling bulb straight out. Once out the bulb simply pulls out of the holder. Refitting is simply a case of pushing bulb into holder then holder into reflector

Once I had done the nearside and knew what I was feeling for I did the offside which was a bit more difficult due to restricted space but certainly do-able (and I haven't got super small hands).

Anyway I took a couple of before and after pics which I'm afraid aren't great but the bulbs do make a difference (sides especially new ones are much more white while old ones are yellowish).

Something tells me they might cost a bit more than £24 and might take a little longer than 30 mins to fit though!

Aren't HIDS meant to be quite dangerous though due to extreme voltages?
