    Default drumming/droning noise

hi, as driving along the motorway today noticed a drning noise from 1 of the wheels, couldnt tell which, when reached 55mph, went bit louder at 65mph, then seemed to go, slowed down and could only really hear it between those speeds. poss wheel bearing maybe? or something else?

cant get it looked at at a garage till midweek due to work

    any ideas?

Its well known that the design of the rear suspension on the vectra can cause uneven wear on the tyres this can cause the noise you have described .

Simplest way but a bit of messing is to swop the tyres front to rear then see if noise gone.

one way to test whether the bearing has gone is to jack the car up spin the wheel and listen for the noise

another way is to put both your hands on the tyre wheel at 12oclock and shake towards you see if it is loose.

what makes of tyre do you have on your car?

passenger side "doublestar" and drivers side "hankook" lol, neither to which ive heard of,

the passenger side looksnear new, and drivers side not to old neither, looking like the old owner replaced them not to long ago, not with decent 1's though,

be looking at the rear upper arms though, maybe going to have find a decent garage round here, or if anybody knows 1, round blackburn? as last 2 ripped me off with past cars.

as looking around on here not the easiest or jobs to get to, and dont fancy doing it roadside on me own lol

i would get the garage to check the rear upper arms. but 90 percent its the tyres.
there not the best of makes.without being rude.
ive got goodyear excellence on both rears and its really quiet now.
it was really dronning before.you could turn the stereo up louder until the thread has got low.
whats the make of tyres on the front?
