    Default Rough idle and smoking

    Just picked up my 56 plate sri 150 cdti yesterday, From the offset it had a misfire/lumpy idle, the dealer agreed with me, Unfortunately it was a 600mile round trip so agreed with the dealer that i take it home and get it into a local garage, he'd then square up the bill. I've tried having a wee look at it. Basic problem, idles lumpy and constantly kicks if that makes sense. If i bring the revs up to 1k-1.5k it is particularly bad, the whole cars judders. All the injector connectors are blue so going by this site, appears to be the newer ones. It seems to either calm alot or disappear if i rev it higher. There is also smoke, almost like fumes, coming out from the engine bay, can only see it with the bonnet open, It seems to be below where the egr valve etc is, I've checked to make sure thats bolted on, no problem there. Also took it out and cleaned it as per the how 2. But it's still the same. Anyone got any ideas so i can give the garage a heads up

    You should have walked away from it from the start, if the car was not running well.
    Hope you can trust the dealer who sold the car, could turn out costly if he backs down.
    Did he give you anything in writing that he would pay for repairs or just his word? Remember he is 300 miles away now, not like you can just nip down and see him.
    The symptoms you gave do not sound good at all, could be a few things that have gone wrong.

    yeah, genuine dealer, A years warranty in writing, useable at any garage in the uk so quite satisfied it will get sorted. Also got the consumer rights to fall back on, and i paid an amount on my credit card, so got the security of that

    Just had the call, Looks like the 3rd injector is knackered and 1 + 2 have intermittent fails, So looks like a new set of injectors. The wiring looks like the new one as it is the blue connectors. The fumes appear to be coming from a hole in the flexi pipe. They're going to get the engine running properly first tho. Another day in the garage. At least i'm nightshift and got a lift squared up
