    Default 1.9cdti turbo

Hi lads I am wondering if any of ye have had the pleasure of replacing the seals in a turbo on a 1.9cdti vectra 06, or is it possible? I noticed the other day when starting the car it struggled to reach 2500 rpm and there was a lot of blue smoke out of the exhaust. She then cleared herself and went fine. no unusual noises at all. not burning oil or using water. 128k on the clock.started fine the next day with a small bit of smoke. cheers for any help

Hi olblue and welcome to the site.
it's a spacialist job stripping and fitting seals, turbine shaft, bearings ect all have to be checked and balanced, using expensive tools, afraid it's a job for a spacialist turbo repair company, cheapest way is a factory exchange.

Sounds very much like EGR valve starting to stick.

cheers lads. I took out the egr today and she was stuck. got it free but i reckon its going to need love and attention to stay working till i can afford a new one. the car is running a lot better now. I cleaned out the boost sensor too, hard to know if its cleaned enough since its a delicate piece. all I have to do now is figure out the knocking in the steering rack. its not track-rods ends or the tie rods. loads of fun eh
