    Default Servicing Question

    My 2.2 Direct is due for a service (according to the Dealer).It was serviced 3/10/05 (19600 miles).It has now covered approx 32000 miles.Approx 12K in the year.What I am unsure about is;

    Do I get it serviced now even though it is 8K less than the specified 40K service

    Wait for another few months and go for an "early" 40K service.

    I know the pollen filter is changed at 40K,but does that mean the Dealer WONT change it at an earlier interval? Ideally I want the "works" AND the brake fluid changed.

    Thanks in advance

    John

    My 2.2 Direct had it's second service last week. I have mine done yearly, that's quite long enougth to wait before changing the oil. They tested the brake fluid and said the boiling point was well within limits and it didn't need doing.

    If you want it serviced, take it in..I don't know any dealer that will turn away business..

    If you want anything specific done, tell them there and then.

    If you want the works dont go to Vx, get the parts trade and get someone who isn't on bonus to fit for you.

    A *works* service @ Vx will cost £400+, cost me £45 doing it myself, still gonna have the Vx partial serving for the warrenty while it's valid, but thats just out of nessesity really.

    Just had the second service on my 2.2 direct. It was done by the dealer and cost £230 all in. A bit pricey but I haven't had any problems from their services in the last 18 years.

    Intresting topic this, my parents Zafira which is nearly 4 years old had the fuel pump fail. The cost to fix was over £1000 and of course the car was out of warranty. BUT because the car had always gone to main delaer for servicing vx cust services paid 25% of the parts costs.
