    Default Please help anyone!!

Can anyone help me with some advice on the heater switch problem that seems to plague vectras,

As is the normal it keeps blowing the fuse on 1-3, I’ve done the mod and fitted a new fuse but it still keeps blowing!!

There is no water on the motor or switch, the motor itself turn easy (no rough spots)

Rang Vauxhall and they told me that they’ve never seen a car with this problem.

    Should come on here!!

    Any suggestions PLEASE

Did you just put a resistor on or replace the whole thing?

i know the vectras with climate control have heater problems due to water seaping past the pollen filter dripping on the motor causing it to burn out the resistor. Might be worth while checking to see if you have a heat resistor for your heaters if not then it could be the heater itself causing it to trip the fuse

Weird, certainly not gonna be an easy one, maybe try changing the motor, maybe its been damaged and spiking caising it to blow, but im no auto electrician im sure you will get an answer soon

try being in my boat mate, i have climate control and the resistor went. Vauxhall wanted £230 for it, luckily im a mechani/mot tester so i fitted meself, anyway it lasted 7 days.
Took it back and they reckoned i didnt fit it properly etc, i told them who i was and what i do and that shut them up. anyway they come to the conclusion that the resistor had gone again plus the heater motor has slightly seized up so they want another £230 for the resistor and £3-400 for the heater motor, i told them get ****ed, i sourced a pattern part which is a valeo part which is what vauxhall use for £100 and a resistor or £75

my car is all sorted now, luckily sourcing parts through ebay. Only worry if you have climate control mate, Like the fella said in a previous post, may be worth while changing the heater blower itself, one recently sold on ebay for £9.99
