    Default VXR Rear Spoiler Fitted

    Well chaps,

Lots of posts about these spoilers since they became available, so here are a few pics and how i went about fitting mine.

Removed the inside trim of the boot and undone the two bolts which hold on the lip spoiler which was already on.

I used an old swipe card to ease between the boot and the spoiler to split the tape holding it on. Was pretty tough! Once the spoiler was off, i used my thumb nail to get off all the old tape on the boot. It came up alright i think!

Did a few test line ups to make sure it all fitted etc. Fitted like a glove!

Wiped both the boot and new vxr spoiler with surgical alcohol to get rid of any grease etc where the glue and tape would make contact.

Lots seem to be using tiger seal, but i got a small tube of the equivilent.. Others have had good results using it on other cars, so it was good enough for me. The vxr spoiler comes already with double sided tape, so if its anything like what held the lip spoiler on, the new one is not going anywhere!

peeled off the backing on the spoiler and fitted onto the boot. The glue will remain movable for about 3 mins, but with the tape, its a one hit.

Ill be honest, i got mine pretty much spot on. There is about a 1mm difference on each end, but unless you actually look for it, its not noticable. Held it fimly in place for about 5 mins (it makes your arms ache) then taped it with masking tape and left it to set.

I was a bit aprehensive about attempting this, but glad i did as its pretty easy. Hopefully these few words and pictures will help others who are considering attempting this mod.

    Rgds

No on the holes. I asked the question on a previous thread, and others hadn't filled them so i didnt bother.

Just to add. If the holes needed filling, even after fitting the new one, the holes are accessable through the boot!
