Default My new signum - gone a bit pete tong!

This is going to be a long job to say the least.....
The car broke down before I had even got it home I had completed 100 out of a 135 mile journey. It limped me into work and I called the AA. They arrived and read the fault codes - only one showing, something about absolute pressure in the inlet manifold not reading. So thats one sensor.

He recovered me to the local VX garage who said they couldn't look at it till thursday. After phoning the garage I bought it from the car went straight into the garage to be looked at! Amazing considering how busy they all were......

After plugging in the old Tech 2 it identified 2 sensors not working. One as listed above and another one that did not show on their system. All I was told was they didn't have a part number for it and had to talk to vauxhall technical to see if they could identify what it was and what it did!! by this stage i was pretty mad

The whole lot is covered by the network Q warrenty so at least i'm not paying

The upshot is I have no car. No way of getting to work, £10000 lighter in the pocker and I can only pick my hire car up tomorrow which I can only have for 48 hours before it needs paying for. None of the local garages have any loan cars till the 27th! Lets just say the garage i bought it from may have to splash out a little.

Any advice on what to do next?????

Just thought I'd keep you all in the picture - above taken from post

As before, get on to NetworkQ and they will provide you with a hire car FOC, then it's up to the repairing dealer to provide you with a car, even if they have to hire it in themselves.

if they stall, use that phone number..

they have kept us mobile all the way..if they can't fix the fault then they have to supply you a car.. they may just not want to rent one for you..

If they won't then it's on to that man at VX to see if he can kick someone in to action for you.

are you networkQ or just the VX 3 year warranty??

Surely if the supplying dealer had carried out the fabled 114 point check something would have shown up or am I being naive?
    What a shower.

Thing is its an electrical fault that isn't always there when the car is started each time...... So they may have missed it. BUT saying that once the light is on the dash the fault codes need resetting before the light goes out so what does that imply????

OR everythings got to break at some point....

It implies that the fault is present all the time..If it won't reset by itself then the dealer should easily be able to find the fault as the fault code will be stored..

NetworkQ is the way to go..the warranty is far more comprehensive than the standard VX one.

You are entitled to a courtesy car with the Net Q warranty, of similar standard to your own car so when they offer you a corsa, ask for a Vectra

Ask for a Jag, and quote Anne Robinson at the sametime.
