confused Airbag light and heated seat problems

Just fitted an elite full leather interior to my sri, everything went in easy using the how 2 on here but when I started the car the airbag light came on and the drivers side heated seat doesn't seen to be working. The switch for the drivers seat doesn't eliminate like the passenger side does but the led in the corner comes on when the heat level is turned.
Battery was disconnected when I unplugged the harness from under the seats.
I've even checked the fuses for the heated seats located in the boot.
    Any ideas

Make sure the large plug underneath the seat is located correctly, and the sliding lock is in place.

My airbag light came on when mine were fitted, the plug was not in securely. Relocated it, locked it in position and airbag light went off.

    Hope this helps

I've tried it. The airbag light went off for a few seconds then came back on.

i've just done the same and my airbag light was on aswell after plugging in the diagnostics i soon remembered that the interior came from a front end damaged car and the seat belt pre-tensioners had fired off so took seats back out and replaced the pre-tensioners from my original seats light then went off after battery reconnected, just went back in and erased all stored faults in ecu.

you've probably got something extra/missing which the airbag ecu may be looking for.. You need to get the codes read to give you a chance to figure it out.

Codes been checked erased airbag codes and I'm left with one U2139 CAN-Bus No Communication With Steering Column Module. Heated seat is sorted the switch was faulty so on the look out for a new one. How can you tell if it's the pre-tensioners?

just look at the seat belt stalks on the seats are the sitting above the seat base or are the sitting down between the seats and centre console? if they are down they have been triggered off, but you would have fault code for ressistance to high in the ecu for the appropriate tensioner?????
