    Question Blue 'Gaffa' Tape

I've noticed on a lot of the photos in here that show a car in mid 'polish' that there is blue tape protecting the plastic trims stopping the polish from getting on it.

Is this a specific type of tape or is it just any old tape?

    Thanks.

    I think it's a low-tack masking tape.

Don't know if it's specifically for detailers (can't think why) but they do seem to love it.

You can get it from DIY places too - just look for low adhesive masking tape designed for putting on painted surfaces (ie you can put it on wallpaper when painting a door frame without it ripping the paper when you take it off)
