Default Why dont vxr's have a build number

why dont have vxr's have a build number like the vec b gsi's had?
im really interested in buying a vxr but dont want to buy a pup cos a couple of members on here have had or having problems with there purchase.
the vvoc site have a register for the supertouring and gsi models but we have nothing for the vxr
the vxr vec for example only a thousand made so they are quite rare
    oh what to do lol

Vauxhall probably never intended to only build a predetermined number - they would have sold as many as there was demand for.

Probably because the VXR was a standard build model from the factory. The Vec B Gsi was an MSD conversion. Basically they converted SRi's to what we know as GSi's and it was MSD that gave them the build number. My Vec B GSi was MSD No. 230 I think

are they really that rare? 1000 is quite a large figure for a low production rare car. I see loads about where i live. Compared to the 101 Siggy 2.8T Designs made its not really that rare.

If you do your research you'll be ok buddy. The 2.8 is a really good engine. As long as its been serviced regulary and there are no visible problems when buying it you should be ok, make sure you do a full hpi check and maybe even see if any body knows the car on vxr online. Other than that there is not much else you can do.

Exactly. By name, it is not a 'limited edition' model, and there was no PREDETERMINED limit to the number produced.

In contrast, the Vectra Edition100 had a pre-determined limit of 500 examples, and the MK4 Astra Edition100 had a limit of around 850 examples.

Interestingly the Astra Edition100's were numbered, but the Vectra Edition100's weren't, although I have it on good authority that they were supposed to have been numbered.

Just out of interest were the 'Linea Rossa' and '888' Astras numbered?

The rossa's went but the 888's were iirc.
