    Default Washer fluid check.

Well folks finally got the GID screen fitted, and Im pretty sure I have the washer fluid sensor fitted. Wire tailing off the lights and connects to the bottle. Fluid alarm came up so topped up the fluid, but alarm still comes up even after stopping and starting car, not got stalk control activated yet but should this matter?

Does it come back on once the car has been switched off and on again? If it does and the fluid level is correct then you may not have the level sensor fitted.

Yeah fluid is up and like u say comes back on after every restart, I'll try take the wheel arch liner off to have a look, there's definatley a wire going into the bottle, could be broken or not connected properly? Will have a closer look the morn.

Could be any of three states

    1) No connector or wiring

    2) Sensor is fitted but either it or it's connector may be faulty / corroded or broken

    3) Sensor connector tied up out of the way, but there is no sensor.

If you've fitted the sensor, you may have put it in upside down, it's a float that is pushed up to close the contact while there's water there and as the water level drops so does the float, tripping the warning when it gets too low because it's broken the circuit.

If you put it in upside down, it will actually float open, causing it to trip.

If you haven't fitted it, then you probably don't have one, if the car had a TID fitted originally, it wont have the level sensor fitted, it may have the wiring though so you can fit one.

There should be two connectors to the bottle, one for the pump and one for the level sensor.

This is when I fitted my sensor on my old car (the sensor is the one on the right)...

You get the grommet from the dealer for a few pence mate, I just drilled a hole fractionally smaller with a hole cutter and sealed the grommet in with a small amount of silicon (trial fit the sensor before sealing the grommet though).
