Vectra SRI won't start / cuts out

Hi, I really hope someone on here can help as this fault is driving me up the wall! Right, it's a 2008 Vectra SRI 140 that I bought damaged and had professionally repaired (may not be important but I don't want to rule anything out). The damage was bodywork only and none of the engine components were replaced. I picked up the car from the repair centre and it was in limp mode (spanner light was on and car had no power). After getting the car home it refused to start again. The engine cranked over but would not catch. I bought a genuine Vauxhall service kit and replaced spark plugs, oil, air, fuel and oil filters. No joy. Used a diagnostic computer but there are no fault codes present or in history. Tried towing the car and starting and that worked but 30 seconds later the spanner light comes on and it cuts out. I know there is nothing wrong with fuelling, sparking, timing, compression as the car does drive when it eventually starts and I have tested the components separately. If it's a sensor would there not be an engine light and fault code present? I have searched this and other forums but the only similar problems have all been diesel engines and the problem has been vacuum pipes or something else diesel related. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

I've looked in the boot and can't see a cutoff reset. I thought this was a Ford thing - am I looking in the right place?

Update for anyone interested: the car is showing low compression in all cylinders. I'm having the timing checked to see if its jumped a tooth otherwise it looks like bottom end.

It was the timing - out by two teeth. All fixed now.
