    Cool caliper paint removal...

    i've ordered a brake upgrade for my car from mann3210 but the calipers are painted blue, what's the easiest way to remove the paint off them as i will be painting them orange

    Depends what they are painted with. If it's hammerite it will probably scrape off. Failing that paint stripper

    ahh excellent will paint stripper be ok for it? (won't damage any of the insides?)

    Avoid getting it on the rubber and you should be fine. If they are well covered with paint then you could key the calipers with sand paper (or a wire brush) and paint over the top of it

    they look like they have been done pretty damned well so might try that, they are in his for sale thread and look mint condition

    I would not try to remove it all. I would rub it down with sand paper and repaint.... I would not risk paint strippers anywhere near the seals!!!

    also when fitting these brakes (302mm) i've read that the cars have heat shields behind the brake, so would these fit ok? or will i need new heat shields? my car is a 1.9 120 and has the 285 mm as standard.

    I think it might just be on the rear that you have to trim/change the shields mate. I went from 285-302-314 and never had to do anything to the shields
