    Default My new signum

Anyway, picked it up today, 03 plate 3.0dti design. Really nice with the irmy kit on it too - pics to follow tomorrow - lovely drive etc so really please with it!

Just one problem. it had been sat on the forecourt for a while and when i stopped at the services and restarted it I had the emmisions light come on and stay on - not flashing - but it restricted the engine power. Any idea how I reset this? is it a stealer only thing? the garage where i bought it from is 130 miles from my house..........

Good to hear you got the car.

'fraid I'm not sure about the emissions light thing. Hopefully somebody else will have some info.

Glad youve joined the signum club!

Is your car network Q? - if so take it to any Q garage to get it checked out.

First thing in the morning get on the phone to your dealer. Get them to book the car into your nearest Network Q dealer. Should be as simple as that......

If it was a Vx dealer you bought from, unless the car is over 3 yrs old or/and more than 60k on the clock any Vx dealer will have to check it out, but beware the fault may not be covered in the 3rd yr, so i reckon you should call the supplying dealer, explain the distance thing, and ask if it turns out to be a non warrented thing will they pick up the cost.

Your Network Q paperwork should turn up in the post within the next couple of days. But i would get to a local Vauxhall dealer for it checking. They can contact Network Q for you to make sure it's covered.

You may find that you don't get the fault again after re-starting, my Vectra used to do this very occasionally on motorway trips mainly when trying to accelarate in fifth from about 50mph. If it happens again get it checked.

This is going to be a long job to say the least.....
The car broke down before I had even got it home I had completed 100 out of a 135 mile journey. It limped me into work and I called the AA. They arrived and read the fault codes - only one showing, something about absolute pressure in the inlet manifold not reading. So thats one sensor.

He recovered me to the local VX garage who said they couldn't look at it till thursday. After phoning the garage I bought it from the car went straight into the garage to be looked at! Amazing considering how busy they all were......

After plugging in the old Tech 2 it identified 2 sensors not working. One as listed above and another one that did not show on their system. All I was told was they didn't have a part number for it and had to talk to vauxhall technical to see if they could identify what it was and what it did!! by this stage i was pretty

The whole lot is covered by the network Q warrenty so at least i'm not paying

The upshot is I have no car. No way of getting to work, £10000 lighter in the pocker and I can only pick my hire car up tomorrow which I can only have for 48 hours before it needs paying for. None of the local garages have any loan cars till the 27th! Lets just say the garage i bought it from may have to splash out a little.

Any advice on what to do next?????
