    Default remap mishap

Was looking forward to getting my remap done today..
Guy came round on time.. uploaded original ecu.. then did the stuff on the laptop..
Then off for the test drive.. but the car went into limp mode..
To cut a long story short.. remap has caused the ecu to chuck a wobbly and needs to be sorted by Renault.. no garage for 20 miles.. car needed for work.. and no cortousy cars available..
So.. hire car needed..extra days holiday have to be taken and car needs fixing.. and no remap.. all in all.. not the best day!

Yep.. they are paying ALL the cost.. including hire car etc.. its going in tomorrow.. so depending on whether the ecu can be reset or it needs a new one.. could be expensive.. who knows.. plus the remap will be a very good price when it gets done.. give them their due, they are helpful and doing everything they can to make it as hassle free..

They have come out to your house and put a bad map on your car which isnt live mapped for your car i.e rolling road and your seriously thinking about letting them try it again. I would take it to to one of the trusted tuners with premises, rolling road etc and above all proven reputation. To be fair they are paying your out of pocket expenses this time but if they try it again i would be worried about them walking away if the same thing happened.

They are a reputable company and quite well known.. I just chose the home visit option as aposed to going to them..
I'll let them sort it first before anything else..

i would never consider someone coming out to my house for a remap a live remap is better on the rollers which i have. speaking of which im having it tweaked again due to additional modifications. i got an extra 18bhp from bypassing a resonator on turbo pipework and a much bigger intercooler but lost some torque and the the rpm for max power has gone u so need to get that down again. and yes these results are on the dyno and i have my printouts

Well, all sorted.. it had knocked off my esp and flagged an injection fault which put it into limp mode.. cost less than a hundred..of which they are reimbursing me..
Had to take a day off work.. and a 3 hour bus ride to get me home!
