Yes it's off a 1.9cdti 150 Astra so from what I'm told it's the same engine

I have searched the site and it shows nothing similar to my problem I know what the fault code is and it is only there when box is plugged in. I was just wondering why it's only when I plug in the crd-t box I was hoping somebody would of experienced similar issues when plugging in there box I know for a fact it should work on my engine as it has been on both an Astra 1.9cdti 150 and a vectra cdti 150 and worked fine

P0400 relates to the EGR valve, there are 6 possible issues when that is thrown; Circuit Open, High Temperature, Excessive Flow, Insufficient Flow, High Voltage or Low Voltage.
If you unplug the DTUK box, can the code be cleared or is it still showing? Are you certain you've plugged it into the correct connectors? Is the EGR valve itself unplugged or have you ever had EGR issues in the past?
Lots of questions with no defacto solution unfortunately, but there's a few things to check. If you can upload a few photos of how you've fitted the box, it might be easier to help out.

as above, remove the box. do things go back to normal?...
also make sure you plug the box in the correct way around as it would be shorting out the 0volts and 5volts possibly which would cause these other errors.
